Half
the fun of collecting and buying Slot Cars or Plastic models,
is in the sometimes magnificient artwork used by manufacturers
to entice us to buy their goods.
I
claim no credit for the idea, I saw an article on boxart on the
web and liked it.

This
is the box that made me want to do this web page. It is so nice,
that I actually paid money for an empty box. I have since bought
an unboxed kit. Don't bother with the kit, it is awful, just
buy the box.

Airfix
in the 1980s, the drawing is good, but the whole box is a bit uninspiring.
Just think what they could have done by showing the car at Le Mans.

The
first of the Japanese boxes, a real action scene, quite a nice
kit in there too. Yes it is 1/32nd and yes both figures are included,
but only as driver/passenger.

It
looks like a photo, but it is a drawing. I do like it, but less
than the Batman style box or the Otaki Chaparral box shown in one
of the galleries.

A
later Monogram box, nice, but not as attractive as the earlier
efforts, this is another one I paid money for, (but it contained
the unused slot bits from the kit)

This
is the side artwork from the Otaki Chaparral box, although they
are labeled as 1/28th, I know the Ferrari is 1/32nd, I wonder if
any of the others are as well. My personal favorite is the AVS Shadow.
