Mini on Steroids by John Cahill. |
John is a new contributor to the site, this is I believe his first scratchbuild. John describes the work done: The Mini was originally meant as a joke. I had an "abused" cast-resin Mini body that I wanted to use to test a pro-track chassis when they first came out. It turned out that the chassis wasn't adjustable enough to fit a Mini and I ended up shortening the pro-track to fit it and doing more paint and detail on the Mini than it deserved (at least without filling the voids etc). I ended up with a cute monster...uncommonly fast (with the dual pro-track magnets), huge tires and a slick little paint job on a rough body. It has a lot of character, and makes it presence known on the track. |
