Lotus Cortina Conversion

The Airfix shell was donated by Joel, it had a twist and needed lots of cleaning up but came up quite well.

Screens and side windows glazed with acetate that CID use when transferring fingerprints from the scene of crime. Front and rear bumpers shaped from plastic sprue and covered in Bare Metal Foil.

Spotlights are reshaped Airfix Austin Healey-Sprite hubcaps clad in Bare Metal Foil. Correct number-plates from rub down lettering.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scalextric Formula Team chassis, reduced in width and length and front axle boxed in with Plastruct section, the rear axle carrier braced with Plastruct strip to stop flex of the skinny chassis.
 
 
GOM “Minilite” wheels with the rim width reduced to fit Pink Kar VW tyres. Interior platform, seat backs and dasboard made from Plastruct sheet. Driver and navigator figures are Top Slot bodies, navigators book plastic sheet, heads from the MRRC trackside figures.

Metal (electrical fitting) exhaust pipe donated by Joel. Body sprayed in Halfords Appliance White, Ford Leaf Green and Satin Black.
