Ferrari
Dino 246 by Joel ThuraThis
car was bought as a very rough vac-form, but the basic shape was correct
and to scale. When I say rough, I mean rough, there was no cockpit, no
spoiler, the nose was flat with 2 shallow dimples, the bottom edges uneven. The
complete project took about a year to complete, it was my first attempt
at making "nostrils" and a recessed rear panel.

The
headlights and windscreen use my usual method, clear Easter egg packing,
the mirror is white metal, the fuel caps are modified scalextric Alfa items,
the exhaust are fine copper tubes called "bootlace" ferules, available
from electronic component shops. The finished car looks just right and was
worth the effort, the chassis is by Atlas, the wheels are Ninco. This is probably my favorite model. |
